Car buyers are asking AI for recommendations

Search is moving inside the assistant. If a buyer asks an AI to compare trims and find one in stock, your dealership is either the answer or it is not.

For two decades, a car buyer who wanted to research started with a search box. That is changing. A growing share of buyers now start by asking an AI assistant: which trim has the best resale value, which crossover fits a car seat and a dog, what is in stock near me under a certain payment.

The assistant gives one answer, not ten links

A traditional search returns a page of links and lets the buyer choose. An assistant returns a recommendation. There is far less room on that surface, and being absent from it is not a small miss.

If your live inventory is not legible to the assistant, you are not in the consideration set for buyers who shop that way, and you will not even see the demand you lost.

Being the answer, with attribution intact

Showing up means publishing your real, in-stock inventory to the assistants through a verified connector, so the assistant can recommend a specific vehicle at a specific store.

It also means tracking the visit. An AI-sourced shopper should land in the same identity and attribution chain as every other touch, so the dealership can see that the channel works and what it produced.
